Karen has worked in the health & social care sector for 26 years, having initially qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1996. Karen has worked in a variety of settings including surgical wards, breast care unit, care of the elderly, medical wards, Intensive Therapy Unit, chronic pain clinic, community nursing and flight nursing, where she was responsible for repatriating British holiday makers back to the UK when they needed medical supervision in order to travel.

In 2001 Karen purchased her first care home up in the Worcestershire area. This was a family run business, which was co-owned with her parents until they retired in 2012. Karen then purchased St George's Care Home in July 2010 and has an active role within the daily running and management there. Karen was also a Registered Care Manager within both care homes for a period of time.

Helen has been our Registered Manager since February 2023.

Previously to this role Helen was an Assessor for Health & Social Care, teaching and training care staff to work towards their qualification in care.

Helen also has a wealth of experience working at many levels within previous residential settings. Helen strives for best practice and results being competent in managing homes and services as well as all business needs and operations.

Helen is dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for all involved with a total person centred approach. She has a holistic approach and an ability to ensure the team all stay on the same journey.

As well as having Helen & Karen, we also have a full compliment of staff including a Deputy Manager & two Team Leaders who help oversee the care we offer, along with a team of both Senior Care Assistants & Care Assistants who provide care 24 hours a day over seven days a week. We have a Chef in daily and also a Housekeeper. We also have an Administrator & an Activities Co-ordinator who provides regular entertainment both inside and outside of the Home. A Gardener completes our team and keeps our garden & Home looking beautiful. All of our staff receive the mandatory training to maintain competence and knowledge, but many also have an NVQ in their related area of practise. All staff have an enhanced criminal record check carried out prior to commencing their work and are regularly supervised to maintain quality.
