Karen has worked in the health & social care sector for 26 years, having initially qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1996. Karen has worked in a variety of settings including surgical wards, breast care unit, care of the elderly, medical wards, Intensive Therapy Unit, chronic pain clinic, community nursing and flight nursing, where she was responsible for repatriating British holiday makers back to the UK when they needed medical supervision in order to travel.
In 2001 Karen purchased her first care home up in the Worcestershire area. This was a family run business, which was co-owned with her parents until they retired in 2012. Karen then purchased St George's Care Home in July 2010 and has an active role within the daily running and management there. Karen was also a Registered Care Manager within both care homes for a period of time.
John has been our Registered Manager since July 2014.
Previous to this role John was managing homes for adults with learning disabilities and an outreach facility with supported living and day service. He also developed a business for domiciliary care based in Somerset, & has previously managed homes for Children with 16 years of experience. John then took a break in Children’s services and transferred to Adults social Care between 2010 and 2013.
John has a wealth of experience as both a Registered Manager and Business Manager, achieving outstanding ratings throughout his previous homes. John strives for best practice and results being competent in managing homes and services as well as all business needs and operations.
John is dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for all involved with a total person centred approach. He has a holistic approach and an ability to ensure the team all stay on the same journey.
